Total War: Warhammer 2‘s The Shadow & The Blade DLC introduces Malus Darkblade. The Tyrant of Hag Graef is a formidable lord, and he’s also situated at the edge of the world. I guess we can call him an “edgelord” if that’s the case. I digress. This guide looks at Malus Darkblade’s abilities, campaign perks, controlling the daemon Tz’arkan, finding more scrolls for Malekith, his final battle, and more.
Note 1: For more information, check out our guides and features hub for Total War: Warhammer 2 – The Shadow & The Blade.
Note 2: The guide will primarily cover Total War: Warhammer 2‘s Vortex campaign. However, I’ll make note of any tips and info regarding Mortal Empires.
Malus Darkblade and the Hag Graef faction
This guide is divided into multiple pages, each detailing various mechanics or quirks when you’re playing as Malus Darkblade.
- I. Overview – Check out Malus Darkblade’s starting position in the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaigns. We also take a look at his faction traits, rites, some additional units, lords, and heroes, and, of course, his unique weapon, the Warpsword of Khaine.
- II. Using your Black Arks – Given Malus Darkblade’s starting position and some changes to Black Arks, you’ll probably have a lot of fun with these floating fortresses.
- III. Controlling Tz’arkan and the Darkblade’s abilities – Have a look at the Tyrant’s abilities as an edgy Dark Elf and once he’s transformed into his daemonic form. He’s also got some abilities that can change or become nullified.
- IV. Campaign progression and the Scrolls of Hekarti – Think of this as Malus’ Vortex campaign and there will be some similarities. The goal is to gather Scrolls of Hekarti to fulfill the campaign objectives and appease Malekith.
