Runic Games will no doubt be pleased that their action RPG has now gone platinum.
The game has achieved sales of one million units across the PC, 360 and Mac which is pretty good going for a single player action RPG. The 4th of July weekend sale on Steam helped boost sales and there’s also been a new spell unlock on the 360.
“We’re very excited to share Torchlight’s success with our fans and supporters. It’s been a great ride so far and we can’t wait to give everyone more of what they want in Torchlight II,” said President Travis Baldree. “It isn’t every day you sell a million games. We’re grateful to be here.”
The future of the Torchlight franchise is looking very bright and with Torchlight 2’s multipayer option the franchise will really start to gather momentum. Torchlight 2 was expected to be released this September but Runic Games have been keeping rather quiet so we are still none the wiser as to when it will actually be released.
