Blood Drinker (bleed)
Blood Drinker is the only relic I’ve yet to unlock and fully test in Torchlight III. On paper, the effects might sound useful, but they’d pale in comparison to what other relics are already able to do. It doesn’t help matters that I’ve been lagging all throughout, thus focusing my efforts on ranged classes like the Sharpshooter and Dusk Mage. Both of these greatly benefit from CC-heavy relics (Coldheart or Electrode) as opposed to a life drain/healing relic.
Perhaps the Blood Drinker relic would be more viable for a melee-type character like Torchlight III‘s Railmaster. It’s got a passive, Blood Pools, that helps provide a small amount of healing. It can, no doubt, be a lifesaver in (laggy) close-combat situations.
Main ability: Blood Frenzy – Immediately deals 100% weapon damage to all enemies around you; causes a bleed DOT effect for 100% weapon damage over 8 seconds; +50% bleed DOT effect over 4 seconds; +5% damage buff for all allies within range.
- Blood for Blood – The Blood Frenzy activation heals you for a small percentage of your health when an enemy is killed.
- Bloodletter – Increased bleed chance while Blood Frenzy is active.
Active skill: Spinning Blade – Summons blades that cause 25% weapon damage and makes monsters bleed for an additional 25% DOT over 6 seconds.
- Heavier Swing – Increased damage for Spinning Blade.
- Faster Blade – Reduced cooldown for Spinning Blade.
Passive 1: Rupture – 10% chance to make a bleeding enemy explode on hit; does 45% weapon damage in a small area.
- Volatile Blood – Increased chance to Rupture enemies.
- Open Wound – Increased Rupture damage.
Passive 2: Blood Pools – 15% chance to spawn a Blood Pool when you kill a bleeding enemy. Blood Pools heal you for 5% of your total health.
- Blood is Life – +5% healing from Blood Pools per rank-up.
- Blood Spill – +5% chance to spawn an extra Blood Pool per rank-up.
Passive 3: Boiling Blood – Enemies hit by Blood Drinker’s initial activation will Rupture when the effect ends.
