The team previously known as Free Radical is working on Crysis 2’s multiplayer.Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has told VG247 that, following Crytek’s acquisition of the Haze and Timesplitters developer – and its subsequent name change to Crytek UK – the team has been hard at work on Crysis 2’s multiplayer.“There are several online functionalities we have planned, one of which is the multiplayer experience itself, which at this stage we cannot talk about,” Yerli told VG247. “But there are two other things I looked at with Crysis, one is the online functionality and the other story.””With story, I wanted to work with Richard Morgan. On multiplayer, we brought in a whole studio, Crytek UK, to work on the multiplayer.”Yerli also confirmed that multiplayer is that team’s sole focus.”That is all they are doing, with a full team on it, and they are blasting forward at full speed with more focus and dedication than I’ve ever had before at Crytek.”Last week saw a blowout of new Crysis 2 media, with new screenshots, concept art, and video on display. The game itself is due out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC around Christmas.
