Tim Cain, Troika co-founder and one of the developers of the original Fallout titles, is now working for Obsidian Entertainment.
This news has emerged thanks to some dedicated Facebook and LinkedIn snooping, and it means that Cain has now left Carbine Studios (creators of the MMO Wildstar).
His history at Black Isle Studios (Planescape Torment) and Troika (Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines) makes him pretty much a perfect fit for a studio known for its RPG titles.
Precisely what Cain is working on is not known, but we do know that Obsidian has declared the company’s future is in “more RPGs” on an in-house engine. The Wheel of Time license is held by the developer, and an unannounced project based on “a leading animation franchise” is also in the works.
