THQ’s ‘Core Games’ management duo leave company

THQ’s Danny Bilson and Dave Davis, respectively the former Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President of the ‘Core Games’ division of the company, have both left the publisher. According to THQ, Bilson will now be pursuing “other interests”, and Davis has been “instrumental” in getting the company’s forthcoming games into production.
It’s not all departures at the publisher though, because in the very same investor newsletter THQ reveals that former Naughty Dog co-founder Jason Rubin will start work as President of the company “effective immediately”.
Rubin will report to CEO and Chairman Brian Farrell, and is said to be in charge of “all of THQ’s worldwide product development, marketing, and publishing operations”.
“THQ has incredible internal and external game development teams, and an exciting slate of games in its development pipeline,” said the incoming President, possibly from inside his brand new office.
It’s a tough job to step in to, with THQ’s financial problems leaving them with a net loss of $240 million USD last year.
Still, the publisher does have some strong-looking games coming up, including Darksiders II, Metro: Last Light, South Park and Company of Heroes 2.
