Blueprints are, basically, how you start building your own base and constructing walls and fixtures in The Survivalists. Once you’ve found a suitable location, likely a place with lots of animals (i.e., rabbits), trees, grass, and fruits, you’re good to go.

Anyway, press the “R” key to open up Blueprint Mode, showing all the possible objects you could place in your surroundings. If you click on a particular object, it’ll show an outline of where it could be placed. After placing it, put in all the requisite materials and start completing your project.

The first things you should construct are the flimsy bed and Campfire. The former acts as your save point and resting space. Don’t forget that higher-tier beds and bedsheets offer bonuses to your HP and stamina after you’ve slept.

The Campfire, meanwhile, lets you cook food so you don’t go hungry. Food items are discussed separately in our cooking guide.

Note 1: If you need to delete an object via Blueprint Mode, simply select any blueprint, mouse over the object, and then press the “Z” key if it hasn’t been built yet. For those you’ve already finished constructing, you need to press “F” to enter “Destroy Mode,” then click on the ones you want to dismantle. Do remember that you’d only get a smattering of the materials used to build them.

Note 2: Just like the character craftables panel, you can open Blueprint Mode anywhere. This includes instances when you’re exploring the open world or delving deep inside labyrinths. You might even need to make wooden planks or bridges to cross certain gaps and obstacles.

Anyway, like all other crafting menus in The Survivalists, creating something will unlock new recipes that can be used. You can see some examples below.

Item Required Materials
Campfire (main; starting recipe) 6x pebbles
Flimsy Bed 1x comfy padding
Straw Wall 2x straw bundle
Wooden Wall 2x wooden wall; 1x rope
Door 3x wooden slat; 2x metal hinge; 1x metal ingot
Window 2x wooden slat; 2x glass sheet; 1x mud
Stone Wall 2x stone slab; 3x mud
Lightweight Bed 1x comfy padding; 2x wooden slat; 2x metal nails
Table 2x wooden rod; 2x timber; 1x rope
Small Chest 4x timber; 2x rope
Medium Chest 2x wooden slat; 2x timber; 2 metal hinge
Pebble Floor Tile 3x pebbles; 2x mud
Multipurpose Pole 2x wooden rod; 2x mud
Crafting Bench 2x stone chunk; 3x timber; 2x rope
Forge 6x stone chunk; 3x mud
Cooking Pot 1x bucket; 6x pebbles
Raft 6x wooden rod; 3x rope

Your next goal in The Survivalists’ early-game (after constructing a bed and a Campfire) is to start making small chests. These are not only used to store items while at camp, but they can also be brought along by your monkey companions so you’ve got containers for your loot.

After this, you should also have a Crafting Bench and a Forge for mid and late-game craftables. Later, you can consider building a raft so you can sail to other islands and a Cooking Pot to have additional food options.

Note: Many of these recipes require mud and sand, or metal ingots/metal hinges. For mud and sand, you’ll need to dig certain soil types. For metals, these are found by sailing to other islands, hence why you need a raft. You’d want to look for volcanic biomes since these have metal ingots, gold ingots, and gem deposits.

In any case, let’s have a look at the Crafting Bench recipes in The Survivalists.
