Today marks the release of The Sims 4 ‘Get to Work’ expansion pack, which boldly promotes a system of trouser free employment for all. Or for bakers, at least.
Actually, I should note that the release date in Europe is 2 April. But it’s out today in the US.
Get to Work has a rather hefty price of $40 (or £30,) but does at least seem as if it’s going to add a fair amount to The Sims 4. It’s hard for me to judge the value, really, since I don’t own the game.
This first expansion adds a four lot neighbourhood called Magnolia Promenade and invites your Sims to set up retail businesses there (such as “bakeries, clothing boutiques, art galleries [and] bookstores.”) You get to figure out what to sell and how to set the place up in Build Mode.
Three new specific careers are added; doctor, scientist and police detective. Each of these has a new career venue (hospital, lab and police station,) complete with new Sims 4 objects.
Photography and bakery skill-sets are in there too, so you can teach your Sims 4 households how to make the perfect cake … and then take the perfect picture of it.
Oh, and Get to Work also includes aliens. Who you can date. And have a kid with. Because it’s The Sims, so of course you can! In fact, I insist.
You can read more about the expansion pack at The Sims 4 official site.
