The Hierophant is a special Tarot Card in The Quarry. While others offer a glimpse into the future, this takes you back to the past. Here’s our Tarot Cards guide for The Quarry to help you find The Hierophant card, as well as learn more about Eliza and Silas.

The Quarry Tarot Cards guide – The Hierophant card, Eliza, and Silas
Where to find The Hierophant Tarot Card in The Quarry
You can pick up The Hierophant Tarot Card in The Quarry during Chapter 9 where there’s a short scene in the storm shelter involving Abigail and Emma. However, this might not occur at all if they’re already dead. Emma can die as early as Chapter 4, and Abby as well in Chapter 6. Thankfully, if one of them is still around, then you’ll control that character in this particular instance (if they’re both alive, you’ll control Abby).
Once you can move your character, walk to the stone steps near the entrance. This will pan the camera to reveal The Hierophant card.
Card selection at the end of Chapter 9
At the end of most chapters, Eliza will ask you if you want a card to be read. However, if you have The Hierophant, she’ll ask you where you found it and she starts talking about her son, Silas. As of now, I’m not sure if you’ll be able to choose the other cards (i.e., Death, Judgment, and The Sun) if you weren’t able to acquire The Hierophant.
In any case, a flashback will occur showing the events six years before the start of the game. In it, Eliza, the head of Harum Scarum, a traveling circus, watches as the whole area burns. She also keeps calling Silas since she cannot find him.
Note: There’s a moment where a stake is about to fall on Eliza, but you can avoid it via QTE.
In the distance, she sees a charred corpse. It’s not yet clear who this person is, but she picks up a sheriff’s badge. This makes her believe that the Hackett family destroyed the circus.
She’s technically correct. However, Travis Hackett, the sheriff/cop, divulges what truly happened near the end of the game. He tells Laura (assuming she’s alive) that Eliza used her own son as a circus attraction (implying that Silas had some form of lycanthropy).
During that time, Travis’ niece and Chris’ daughter, Kaylee, took pity on the boy. Kaylee and her brother, Caleb, decided to set fire to the circus, hoping to use it as a distraction to help Silas escape.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. Silas did escape, but not before biting and infecting Caleb. Kaylee and Chris, meanwhile, were bitten later. As such, the entire Hackett family keeps these events a guarded secret.
As for Eliza, she walks off to the flames, an explosion occurring just as the scene fades to black. Yes, the Hag of Hackett’s Quarry is a ghost, the apparition who’s been appearing behind characters or whispering in their ears. Her attempts to read your future with Tarot Cards in The Quarry are, essentially, a way for her to take revenge from the afterlife.
Still, Silas is alive. His curse needs to be broken, and you can do just that during the game’s finale.
The Quarry is available via Steam.
