Let’s forget for a moment that one of the biggest gaming events in the world is taking place right now. If you haven’t had your fill of announcements, news, delays, and everything else, there’s still time to cash in on some deals on already released games. The GOG Summer Sale for 2021 kicks off today with some steep discounts on titles old and new. The catch this time is that there are special, 48-hour only deals for base games and DLC.
In the true essence of the season, the GOG Summer Sale will extend out to June 28. So, you don’t have to scramble to dump your wallet on Mirror’s Edge after waiting 13 years for it to be discounted. However, there will be additional discounts on certain games and DLC. These 48-hour window titles will be available until June 11 and include the base game and released downloadable content. Some of those sale items include Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition + Vintage Gunslinger Bundle (discounted 70%) and Greedfall + Adventurer’s Gear DLC (discounted 66%). It might be time to pick up Dying Light considering new content is still being pumped out.
Deals on more than just the classics
GOG is known for its expansive library of classics. And the sale is adding a few choice games to the overall catalog. For example, the Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition was recently added with an 85% price drop. Other’s like Thief: Definitive Edition, will see a 75% price cut during the GOG Summer Sale celebration.
Outside of the aforementioned deals, the standout news about the sale is the boasted “3,400 game deals up to 90% off.” If you haven’t filled your backlog with games that you’ll probably play when you get the time, you might want to get in and grab your piece of the deal pie. There are still newer games, like Little Nightmares II, seeing 20% markdowns.
As it stands, there’s a little something in the sale for everyone. But don’t let some weirdo on the internet tell you how to play or what to buy. You can head over to the discount page and peruse the reduced prices yourself, pal.
