The First Descendant XP Farm: Fast leveling post-patch for all characters

Move over, Valby run.

Experimenting with new Descendants is the best part of the game, but leveling them up is a chore. Let me show you the best ways to XP Farm in the First Descendant for all characters post-patch.

What is XP Farming in The First Descendant?

We use the term “XP Farming” to describe an activity in the game that grants a high amount of XP per time spent. All of your new Descendants start at level 1, but you want to reach their level 40 cap for the highest base stats.

When you assign Module Sockets to your Descendants, they revert to level 1, so it’s nice to have a reliable place to build them back up. There are a few places to rack up incredible amounts of XP, but they require you to use Valby or Bunny specifically.

It’s good intel, but pretty useless if you’re XP farming for Freyna, for example. With this in mind, here are a few locations to XP farm with any character.

Kingston: Defend Albion Resource

I use this XP farm often as it’s extremely easy, and I always find random players doing the same thing. There’s no hidden strategy. Defeat the enemies as they spawn, and you’ll level up steadily.

Enemies in this activity are pretty low-level, so you can flatten them with a new Descendant.

If you’re looking to min-max, I recommend standing in either of the two locations in the pictures above. Both areas are right behind enemy spawn points, and you can tear through them before they can run or fight back.

The only downside to this XP farm is it sucks for any additional resources, which leads nicely into my next recommendation.

Sterile Land: Block Kuiper Mining

Sterile Land is a refreshing change to Kingston as you’re forced to be more active. You’ll earn XP at a respectable rate and also collect a decent amount of Gold and Kuiper. The latter is essential for leveling up your Modules, so this location kills two birds with one stone.

This area has notably tougher enemies than Kingston, so stick with your squad and restart the activity if they leave.

White-night Gulch: Fortress Outskirts (normal mission)

My favorite XP farming spot is the Fortress Outskirts mission on White-night Gulch. You have four locations to defend, but the kicker is that enemy density is high, and you’ll earn a ton of XP from battle.

Another great feature of the Fortress Outskirts is the superb Gold and Kuiper you earn. The champion enemies for this activity can also drop Red Modules, which are exceptionally rare.

You can farm this location with any Descendant. Naturally, mob clearers like Bunny, are great here, but feel free to use whoever you like.

If your game is chugging in high-density areas on PC, make sure to check your settings. A few small changes can make all the difference.
