The First Descendant ultimate weapons guide: Tier list and how to farm them all

Perfect your build with ultimate weapons and gear.

Ultimate weapons are the best of the best in The First Descendant, but the grind to get them can be frustratingly long. As such, it’s a good idea to educate yourself on the best ultimate weapons in TFD and how to get them.

You’ll unlock ultimate weapons quite early in The First Descendant campaign, but the best of them are gated behind higher Mastery Rank requirements. Just unlocking them isn’t enough, though, because you’ll then need to grind the same missions over and over hoping to get lucky and receive the necessary crafting materials. It’s a long and arduous process — just like unlocking new characters — but the chase is part of the fun of The First Descendant.

How to Craft Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant

To craft ultimate weapons, visit Anais at Albion. Located on the far left side of the hub, she’s your go-to contact for all research and unlocks in The First Descendant.

Every ultimate weapon has four parts required to craft it: Polymer Syncytium, Synthetic Fiber, Nano Tube, and a Blueprint.

Each part drops from different activities and missions throughout The First Descendant, but you’ll need the correct Amorphous Material to get a chance for the part to drop. You can view the missions and Amorphous Materials Patterns associated with an ultimate weapon part by hovering over them and selecting “Acquisition Info.”

Several ultimate weapon components also need to be researched themselves, so the process of crafting a weapon will take several hours overall after the grinding is done.

For example, if you want to craft Divine Punishment, you’ll need to research the Divine Punishment Polymer Syncytium first (among other things). This requires a blueprint obtained from an Amorphous Material Pattern after completing a Void Intercept Battle in addition to generic resources like Inorganic Biogel and Superfluid.

How to Farm All TFD Ultimate Weapon Materials and Blueprints

The drop rates for all ultimate weapon resources are very low in The First Descendant, so you’re going to be running the same missions over and over for hours on end to upgrade your arsenal. Your primary target should always be the weapon blueprint since it’s the rarest drop of them all.

A good strategy is to repeatedly farm the normal missions that have a chance of dropping the blueprint so you can stock up on Amorphous Material Patterns in the background.

Once you have a bunch of Amorphous Material (and some Shape Stabilizers to maximize your chances), start farming the Void Intercept Battle associated with the blueprint. You’re likely going to have to repeat this process a few times before you get lucky.

How to Get All Ultimate Weapon Blueprints

Each ultimate weapon blueprint drops from various missions throughout The First Descendant. Most of them drop as rewards from Void Intercept Battles, so you’ll need to collect the corresponding Amorphous Material Pattern in order to obtain the blueprint you’re after.
