Arena Breakout players looking forward to the ‘Battle for the Port’ update need not wait any longer. The Season 2 update is finally here, bringing with it the promised Storm Warning Mode, along with a few other weapon-based surprises perfect for the scary season.
In the exciting new Storm Warning Mode, players fight against dynamic weather effects. The ‘fog of war’ takes on new meaning when you’re literally wandering through the fog. Or when you’re taking shelter beneath swaying tree branches and peering through a rainy haze, hoping you see your enemies before they see you.
Besides weather patterns that apparently have it in for you, the new season adds new weapons ranging from the AN94, AEK, and ACE31 assault rifles, to the M300 revolver and the DP12 shotgun. You can customize them to your heart’s content, then carry them with you as you explore the new Port map and its urban warfare trappings. You’ll negotiate underground passageways, brave bombed-out avenues, and creep stealthily through abandoned buildings.
At the end of your mission, expect an encounter with Derwin Pan, a former Kamona Navy Commander responsible for the assassination of the Admiral Chief of Navy Operations. Despite his misdeeds, the man has no trouble keeping loyal subordinates at his side. You have full permission to execute Pan and his allies on sight — but don’t expect them to make it easy.
With Season 2 launching so close to Halloween, the developers surrendered to a festive mood. They’ve rolled out some Halloween-themed login treats, allowing you to dress up your gear with jack-o’-lantern skins and even snag a Halloween Sickle. The trick to go with the treat is that you must claim what you want by November 19. Otherwise, those options are lost in the fog.
If you’re ready to start your next mission, look for the Season 2 ‘Battle For the Port’ update on your iOS or Android device. And if you have been seeking a tactical shooter to enjoy on the go but haven’t gotten around to Arena Breakout quite yet, well, today sounds like the perfect day to address that oversight.
