Whether you’re just a casual keyboard player or a full immersion, multi-monitor, full cab set-up enthusiast, Euro Truck Simulator 2 is all about realism, and mods are the way to push it to the next level. With this list of ETS2 mods, you can ramp your experience right up.
Scania 1 Series (Available here)
Take it back to the old school with this classic Scania 1 Series truck model for use in-game. The classic truck has been lovingly remodeled from the original 1968 vehicle. With this ETS2 mod, you can even take this truck into your garage and modify and tweak it till it is just the way you remember it.
Realistic Lighting mod (Available here)
Despite Euro Truck Simulator 2’s attention to detail, certain mods help a little with immersion. This lighting mod makes your truck’s headlights look much more realistic in both the full-beam and low-beam settings. Now, with this mod enabled, you can light up the night and navigate through tunnels with added realism.
Ipad Air in cab mod (Available here)
Bring your iPad along for the ride with this simple yet effective Euro Truck Simulator 2 mod. The small addition to the game allows you to bring your iPad to the cab, where it can be mounted. The mod will show both your route and music controls for in-cab entertainment.
Better Rain ETS2 mod (Available here)
Some of the pleasure that comes from the long-haul lifestyle is certainly down to the comfort of being in the cab. While cruising the long and beautiful roads of Europe, rain is unavoidable. However, being warm and dry inside your truck is what the experience is all about. This mod tweaks the rain simulation in the game to give a more realistic feel to those grey days. As a lover of ASMR, it doesn’t get much better for me.
Improved truck physics (Available here)
When setting off on your journey, both on the road and into truck simulator life, realism is everything. The great might of a heavy goods vehicle on the road is all part of what makes Euro Truck Simulator 2 so appealing. With this mod for ETS2, your truck will feel and look more real than ever. This tweak adds suspension dips, cab wobble, and many other physics mods to Euro Truck Simulator 2.
Fael Environment Euro Truck Simulator mod (Available here)
This mod greatly improves the quality of the environments around you and the journey you take. The game came out more than ten years ago, so it can be forgiven for having a few out-of-date textures. However, with this Euro Truck Simulator 2 mod, you can improve the surrounding environment, bringing the beauty of Europe to life.
Improved sounds pack (Available here)
With this ETS2 mod, you can improve the sounds of your truck on the road. The steady hum of tires on the tarmac and the crunch of gravel under the trailer are mesmerizing sounds for me. It helps with immersion and greatly improves the simulation. The attention to detail is amazing; it even adds sound distortion while passing under bridges.
Jazzycat’s dedication to Euro Truck Simulator 2 traffic mods
This is more than just a single mod. Jazzycat has dedicated a huge amount of time and effort to creating an array of traffic mods for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Simply head to their page to take a look at the selection of cars, trucks, and other traffic-related tweaks they have thrown together. These mods focus on improving the appearance of the cars, often making them well-known and current models local to each country.
Daniel’s random events (Available here)
Life on the road isn’t always a cruise; sometimes, the unforeseen happens. With Daniel’s random events mod for Euro Truck Simulator 2, you need to stay aware. This simple mod adds a huge selection of events for you to encounter along the way. Some of my standouts are the road traffic accidents and stretches of roadworks that never seem to end. It’s just like real Europe.
Cabin accessories (Available here)
Why not decorate your traveling office? You’re going to be spending many hours in there, so take some time for interior decorating. With this ETS2 mod, you can add everything from a pile of gifts on the passenger seat to personalized pillows on your cab bed. The possibilities are genuinely impressive, and it’s sure to make your truck your own.
Extended camera mod in Euro Truck Simulator 2 Studio (Available here)
When you have finally put together the truck of your dreams in Euro Truck Simulator 2, you really deserve to give it a photo shoot. However, many of us have found that the range of the camera is a little too limited. With this mod you can pan the camera right out, even being able to explore the surrounding city. This means that no matter where you decide to take your pictures, you’ll always get the right angle.
Home with Warehouse in Rostock (Available here)
After a long and dusty day hauling cargo on the roads of Europe, it’s time to put your feet up and work on your truck. With this ETS2 mod, you can pull into your own home in Rostock and tinker with your truck. The house is only a decoration, but it has a sleep trigger built in. For me, pulling into a cute home adds a human element to the game. It’s nice to think of our tireless trucker putting his feet up for a good night’s sleep.
TRANS-ALL Garage D-Deck (Available here)
In contrast to the previous mod for ETS2, this one is a monstrous building made for the sleeping giants of the highway. Here, you can pull your truck into this multi-floored garage to work on it or take pictures. The huge, glass-fronted structure sits just off the highway and can house multiple trucks.
Better Flare ETS Lighting upgrade (Available here)
This mod tweaks a lot of the visual lighting effects in the game, ranging from the road flares to the way headlights look out of the truck. It remodels a lot of the effects from the now rather aged original game. With this Euro Truck Simulator 2 lighting mod, the whole experience takes on a different feel, making night driving the spectacle it should be.
DLSS/DLAA Euro Truck Simulator 2 mod
ETS2 is an old game, and it needs to be brought up to speed with a few mods. This simple yet very effective mod improves anti-aliasing, DLSS, and DLAA, making the whole experience much nicer on the eyes and smoother. If you’re going to be driving through the fields of Europe, you may as well make it look pretty. If you’re running any kind of decent PC setup, your rig won’t have any problems working with the upgraded visuals, either.
