The Batman: Arkham Knight Launch Trailer Rings Ominous

The Batman: Arkham Knight Launch Trailer has dropped, and it looks plenty ominous. We’ve already seen a good bit of gameplay footage here and there, leading up to the launch, but this is different.

The trailer is packed with the kind of chaos and action expected to take place in Arkham Knight, and we get a good look at the cast of characters that will be present in the game.

Rocksteady has said before that Batman: Arkham Knight will be the last game in the series, which had us wondering how they would wrap it up. Ending the trailer with “This is how the Batman died” doesn’t sound like good news for the caped crusader, and we don’t know if we’re ready to face that. We wouldn’t put it past Rocksteady to eliminate him, given that this game is meant to be the conclusion to the Arkham series.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on June 23, 2015, but not without some hiccups. There’s a rather hefty day one patch waiting for everyone who wants to get their hands on the game, which is supposed to bring the following improvements:

  • Improved performance
  • Stability fixes
  • New Feature: Rival Points
  • New feature: Original Batsuit skin available to select
  • Support for “A Matter of Family” additional content (this is the pre-order exclusive prequel DLC)
  • General gameplay, graphical, audio, UI, and localization fixes.

It’s slightly disappointing that players won’t get to play Batman: Arkham Knight the moment that the game drops, but if the patch will make things run smoother, then we’re all for it.
