Publisher 505 Games and Dutch developer Engine Software will be bringing a conversion of indie PC sensation Terraria to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in early 2013. Like fellow dig-n-build titleMinecraft, the game will be hoping to find a brand new audience on the consoles.

The crafting and exploration of Terraria apparently attracted around 1.6 million sales on the PC, according to 505’s press release.

“I can’t say how excited I am to finally have Terraria come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation3! To see it come so far is a complete shock, especially after such humble beginnings,” says creator Andrew Spinks, from original developers Re-Logic.

No confirmation of price at this point, but it’s likely to be in the $10-15 USD range.
