Telltale caught reviewing their own game on Metacritic [*Sigh*]

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Earlier this week we reported that Sledgehammer Games tried to get fans of Modern Warfare 3 to increase the game’s user score on Metacritic. Now comes the news Telltale employees are trying to bolster scores for their own games by writing their own 10/10 reviews on the site.
The game in question is Jurassic Park: The Game, and the people in question are a user-interface artist and a cinematic artist. Both of the employees logged onto the site posing as honest members of the games buying public and wrote glowing reviews of the game. Five top-mark reviews had been written within a day of the game’s release.
Over the same period only one professional review was listed.
Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these people? Do they not understand that NOBODY other than them take the user score as an accurate representation of a game’s quality? Or even as a means of judging whether or not it’s a worthy purchase?
The most disheartening thing about this particular situation is that Telltale are even involved. I’d always viewed the studio as mature, intelluctual and above these kinds of crass, silly behaviours.
