Kickstarter project The Long Dark has just over a week left to secure funding, but has been getting a whole lot of pledges recently. It’s sat at around 60% of its $200,000 CAD (Canadian Dollars) target, thanks in no small part to being featured as Kickstarter’s ‘Project of the Day.’

Releasing some lovely in-game images (below) on Friday probably didn’t hurt, and today the Hinterland development team has put out some in-game footage as well. The Long Dark is a first-person survival title in which you play a downed pilot lost in the Northern wilderness after some kind of catastrophic global event. Communications are all out, the wolves are hungry and there’s snow everywhere.

The video shows a little of the calories/calory burning mechanism, lighting a fire to spook a wolf and more discussion of the game in general. You’ll see the rather lovely visual design in motion, along with stuff like the day/night cycle and accompanying shadows.

The game is being developed by a smattering of industry professionals from places including Relic, Volition, BioWare and Riot.
