Sarole Mountains: The Golden Shoot
Some players will get stuck while trying to find the Golden Shoot in Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. Why? Well, because there’s a short scene with the elder once you return to the village in Sarole Mountains. You’re told that you need to find the Golden Shoot, but it’s not even on your map.
Funnily enough, if you check the quests tab, you’re told to go to North Centoria because that’s where the main quest’s marker for the Golden Shoot is. Seriously, ignore that.
So, what’s the deal then? As it turns out, the Golden Shoot is a “bamboo shoot” found in the bamboo forest close to the guarded cave.
Go ahead and fast travel to the Sarole Mountains – Bonfire savepoint again:
From there, jump of top of the rock formation (seen in the image above). Equip Kirito with a whip and use the Catch Move skill to cross the gap.
You should be back at the bamboo forest with the guarded cave to your right. The Golden Shoot is nearby, but there’s no marker for it. Instead, you’ll need to look for “consumable/resource” icons (aka. the “green leaf” icons on the ground).
I kid you not, one of these things is the Golden Shoot.
Note: In fact, the remaining items you’ll need to find later as part of the Back to Rest main quest will also have these nondescript “consumable/resource” icons.
Here’s the exact area of the map where I found the Golden Shoot:
Once you’re done with that silliness, return to the village elder who’ll allow you to go through the guarded cave.
Note: Read on to find out about the remaining quest items that are part of Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris‘ Back to Rest main quest.
I am not throwing away my (Golden) Shoot
Keep trudging deeper inside the tunnels until you reach a cavernous area with a lady’s statue.
The main quest marker for Back to Rest tells you to go up top, so go ahead and do just that.
There’s a savepoint here so activate that and save. Before you advance, however, look below you.
There’s a golden chest down below which has the Phantom Peak 2H sword – 121 damage; Thirst for Blood perk – -10% defense, critical hit rate increased by the amount of remaining SP +50%. It’s a ridiculously powerful weapon due to the crits.
Fast travel back to the savepoint and reach the mountain’s summit. You’ll fight a couple of Dark Knights and a Clamp.
After you’ve taken care of them, the southern exit will open up, so just jump down the cavern and make your way to the next zone: Great Mound Road. There, we’ll continue with the Back to Rest main quest by finding, uh, a durian fruit. I told you it’s an Easter egg hunt.
