The Beastsnare Grotto Raid Dungeon is one of the new locations in Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. Let’s talk about this map as well as the enemies and loot.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris – Beastsnare Grotto Raid Dungeon
Our main goal in the Beastsnare Grotto Raid Dungeon is to destroy a bunch of pink crystals. It seems destroying more crystals weakens the boss and opens up pathways.
Still, the entire Beastsnare Grotto Raid Dungeon is a maze, one that can totally confuse players due to its layout. My advice for you, if you’re rushing, is to simply follow this video by YouTuber Ricocheto (which was originally posted on Reddit):
You can skip all the crystals and beeline straight for the boss. Unfortunately, you’ll miss out on all the treasure chests.
If you want to grab some loot and find out how the crystals mechanic works, let’s continue discussing further in our guide.
Part one
I’ll break down the guide into smaller sections. So, first up, go straight ahead destroy the first crystal that you see. That’s crystal #1 down.
Next, follow the path going to the right. You might even see a level 70 golem here (for extra skill points).
Before you venture further, just make a mental note of this junction (seen below). A flight of stairs goes straight ahead and the other goes to the right.
Note: We’ll go straight ahead for now and to the right later for “part two.”
Anyway, you’ll spot a slug and two mushrooms. Don’t mind them, but, again, make a mental note of this spot as well.
First, turn right and you’ll fight a miniboss, Rotstone the Distorted (level 60), who’s guarding a chest.
Reward: Lilac Greaves
From Rotstone’s chamber, follow the stairs leading upwards.
You’ll see crystal #2 here so just destroy it.
Go back to the spot between Rotstone’s room and the “slug and mushrooms” area. You’ll see an opening here.
That leads to a small room with a chest.
Reward: Diaslate
If you follow the room as it loops around, you’ll reach a library.
Then, you’ll encounter Madprism the Shrieking (level 68). There’s a chest here too.
Reward: Abyssal Clothes
All right, now, head back to the “slug and mushrooms” spot. Remember when we went upstairs to fight Rotstone? Instead, head to the opposite direction and you’ll see a path going down.
Once you reach the end of the path, there’s another branch:
- Left side – This will take us back to the starting area (which we’ll discuss in part two).
- Right side – Another crystal and the boss fight area.
For now, go to the right and follow the corridor to destroy crystal #3.
If you keep going around the corridor and down the stairs, you’ll eventually reach the door to the boss’ room. Ah, but that’s for later.
Part two
Okay, let’s say you followed the sloping path going left and you eventually made it back to the starting area. Well, remember that “junction” I told you about — the one that’s close to that level 70 golem from earlier? This one…
Let’s go to the right side this time. Damn it! Two more flights of stairs. Let’s go left.
This will eventually lead us to a chest.
Reward: Mythic of the Fallen
Jump down from that ledge and you’ll be at a spot with a few insect mobs. This is actually where you’ll end up if you went up the right side staircase.
Anyway, you’ll notice a ledge close by (don’t worry, we’ll discuss this too). For now, look at the first arrow.
Behind that corner is another chest.
Reward: Beast Claw (materials)
Get back to that area with the ledge and cast Create Metal. Jump up, slay mobs, and open the chest.
Reward: Rainbowgem
Now, just past that chest is a narrow, winding corridor that leads further upwards. Continue following it. You’ll eventually need to cast Create Metal again to climb on top of another ledge.
Once you reach the top, you can annihilate crystal #4.
Part three
We’re done, right? Well, no, not quite. Look at the distance and you’ll see that there’s another chest that remains unopened and one more crystal.
Okay, make your way down that small set of steps from where crystal #4 is, then, look at the giant crystal at the center of the zone. You can use that crystalline path.
Follow the path and you’ll notice another ledge below you with a couple of spiders and a bee. Jump down and keep forging ahead.
Eventually, you’ll spot crystal #5. Go break it apart.
Now, this walkway also has another set of stairs leading down. Keep following it. It’ll eventually take you upwards because, as I said, Beastsnare Grotto is an absolute maze.
But, in the end, you’ll find the final chest (guarded by a couple of mobs).
Reward: Lilac Waistcloth
You destroyed all five crystals and you found all seven chests. Head to the boss’ area before time runs out.
Boss fight: Flashfang the Arachna
This giant spider, Flashfang the Arachna, is the final boss in the Beastsnare Grotto Raid Dungeon.
Just like the Divine Beast known as Flashfang the Ancient, this creature’s a complete joke (or maybe it’s because we destroyed all the crystals and all your companions are pissed off due to all that running around).
Anyway, your entire 16-character raid group should make quick work of the boss. Just remember that it loves to teleport.
Reward: Abyssal Charm
The Beastsnare Grotto Raid Dungeon clear chest can give you a weapon, armor, or accessory. Here’s an example:
