Outpost Zero and Subnautica: Below Zero‘s ending
Outpost Zero is an Alterran facility that’s directly north of Delta Station.
To reach it, you’ll need to get past some icebergs, then trek through snowy terrain.
Although you can visit this location anytime you want — heck, there are even blueprints to help you with base-building — the area with the Architect Phase Gate will be sealed off unless Al-An already has his own body.
Anyway, since Al-An has a vessel now, you can go through the large doorway. Inside, you’ll find him working on a machine. He’ll then run off to a teleporter and you’ll be asked if you wish to join him.
You can go ahead and jump in now, and that leads to the ending sequence, or you can stay behind if you wish to do other stuff. Try to keep a save file here in case you still plan on visiting other areas.
Once you go through the teleporter, the alien ship will materialize. Al-An will attempt to power it up, but you do need to help him. If you interact with the two pillars that have fallen, Robin will use alien technology to repair them. After this, Al-An will ask you to board the ship.
Head inside the ship and watch the ending cutscene. Robin will journey with Al-An to the homeworld of the Architects, leaving their fates unknown.
