Steam Hammer is described as “Open Class System meets Jetpacks and Airships in a Massive Sandbox World”, the game was successfully funded on Kickstarter to the tune of $51K.

“Following two years of development and a successful Kickstarter campaign, we are delighted to finally be able to announce Early Access for Steam Hammer,” said Konstantin Semenov, CEO of Big Way Games. “We believe we’ve created something that is truly unique in the steampunk genre with realistic skills development, crafting and survival elements mixed into a hardcore sandbox RPG. Grab your steam hammer, join our world and show everyone who’s the boss!”

As the game is pretty much a sandbox, it’s a matter of creating a character and heading into the game world and seeing what happens. What is unique about this survival title is the setting, a Victorian Steampunk universe with fitting machinery, weapons and clothing. You don’t see many of those these days.

Beta access is still available now with 50% off and costs $11.99/£9.99/€11.99 prior to the Early Access version going live next week. With open world survival games being all the rage, it may be worth a look.
