It’s that time of year again, I think. Generally, when discussing the upcoming Steam sale we like to shout out all the notable “summery-y” things happening, like bees and birds and sunshine. But in this age of quarantine, I can only surmise the approach of the summer season by how often I’m using my air conditioning. Anyway, as usual with dawn of the hot season, the date for Steam Summer Sale 2020 has possibly been leaked. At least we can take comfort that some things will never change.
The sale leak once more comes courtesy of SteamDB — or in this case, its developer. According to a Twitter post by Pavel Djundik, Steam Summer Sale 2020 will begin on June 25 and end on July 9. He notes Chinese sources, as opposed to the usual developer email that never stays discreet. While a little shadier this time around, Djundik is often on the money for leaked Steam sales.
Confirmed now, Jun 25 to Jul 9

It was through the SteamDB Twitter last year that we learned the dates for Steam Summer Sale 2019. And it was around this time (May 15, to be exact) that the leak was discovered in the wild. Last year, however, we also got the starting date of 10 AM PST. We expect the next sale to begin around the same time.
Birds, bees, and lovely PC game sales
As with all Steam sales, expect discounts on hundreds, if not thousands, of new and older games. I’m sure Terraria will be going for a handful of nickels as always. And it’s just as well, considering the 9-year-old game will have its fourth and final update in a handful of days. We also expect plenty of newer games to go on sale, such as Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. Naturally, when the sale does begin, we’ll let you know what kind of discounts are live.
The Steam Summer Sale 2020 will likely begin on June 25, so get those wallets prepped for more sacrifices to the gods of backlog.
