If you fancy trying out titles like Company of Heroes 2, Payday 2, or XCOM: Enemy Unknown for free, then Steam has you covered this weekend.

Starting tomorrow at 10am Pacific Time, ten titles will be available to play on Steam completely free of charge for the weekend, and all ten will be discounted for the duration. In short: try ten games out. If you like them, you can buy them at a discount. If you don’t… well, then just delete them; you’ve spent no money.

The ten titles are the action MOBA Awesomenauts, online duel-’em-up Blade Symphony, historical RTS Company of Heroes 2, cartoon survival game Don’t Starve, racer Grid 2, DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, co-op zombie shooter Killing Floor, co-op heist-based shooter Payday 2, beautiful platformer Trine 2, and alien invasion simulator XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I daresay there’s at least one title in there you’ve probably thought about trying out.

All ten should be available to download completely free of charge tomorrow, and you can play them for free until the end of the weekend. Once the weekend’s over you’ll have to buy them to carry on playing, but they’ll be discounted for the duration of the event, so that shouldn’t hurt your bank balance too much.

When not writing about games, Tim can occasionally be found speedrunning terrible ones, making people angry in Dota 2, or playing something obscure and random. He's also weirdly proud of his status as (probably) the Isle of Man's only professional games journalist.
