Start Rolling (Your Eyes): The Crew Will Be 30FPS, 1080P On PC, PS4, And Xbox One, And Have Microtransactions

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

We have some news on Ubisoft’s upcoming open world racer The Crew that you may not take kindly too. The game will be running 30FPS, 1080p across PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will also be one of many that has microtransactions built in.

Regarding the framerate, Creative Director Julian Gerighty explains that they are:

really trying to get parity across all versions, so it’s something that’s important to us not to branch out and not do individual things for individual platforms.

Ubisoft’s explanation for including microtransactions is very familiar:

All content can be unlocked through progression, but for busy gamers who want to save some time, they will have the opportunity to buy some items in-game.

Now, before we all call foul on the game, it will still be a different experience, as an online team based racer with cooperative and competitive elements. Driveclub didn’t come on time, and we’re not all playing Forza 5, so for those of you who wanted a racer like this, The Crew will still have that.

Still, hard to say that these revelations are thrilling. We’ll just have to wait and see if gamers are willing to look beyond all this and get the game. Feel like saying something about it? Let it out in the comments below.
