With the release of Starcraft Remastered happening some time soon, Blizzard has now released the original StarCraft and StarCraft: Broodwar for free.

The release of the classic as a freebie also coincides with the launch of the v1.18 patch which comes with new additions to the originals including and Observer mode, popular maps, opponent information in game lobbies and more.
The free release should get new players primed for what’s to come in the revamped version and Blizzard will be hoping it encourages gamers to pick up the remastered version.
