How to find Aila’s Contact
Thanks to our eavesdropping skills, we know we need to talk to a Crimson Dawn member to get to Aila Bren, the Slicer we’re after. Since I had a Good Reputation with Crimson Dawn when doing this mission, I easily walked in, sneaked past a few guards at the end, and talked with the contact.
If you have a Poor or lower Reputation with Crimson Dawn, you’ll need to sneak your way to the back of their Syndicate area in Mirogana. I recommend using the vent left of the main cafe area and sticking to the right as you make your way to the contact. That way has the least amount of guards and the most cover.
How to steal the Code Sequencer
After talking with the contact and making it to safety, your next task is to steal a Code Sequence from an Imperial Officer. Make your way to the location in Southern Falls that is marked on your map. Hopefully, you know how to deal with blue shield enemies.
Here, you find an Imperial Outpost that’s heavily guarded. There is a way to go in quiet and steal the Code Sequencer, but I recommend going in loud as it’s much quicker and easier — just make sure to use the rocks as cover. Once you down the Imperial Officer, pick up the Code Sequencer and lie low to lose your Wanted status.
How to meet Aila in the Imperial Forward Base
The hardest — and most fun — part about The Slicer mission is getting into the Imperial Forward Base. You are shot on sight if you try to enter through the front door (trust me, I tried). I found the easiest way to get in is through the hill near the entrance on the left.
After walking up the hill, grapple onto the base and use the vent to get inside. Once inside, go right to avoid getting spotted. Power on the steam and use it as cover. Roll over to the steam left of the ladder to not be spotted. Grab the Scout Trooper Helmet Trophy treasure and enter the vent.
From here, keep going forward through the vents until you reach the garage. Head to the back to meet Aila.
How to attach the device to the rooftop antenna
This part got me turned around. Instead of running up and down the base nearly getting spotted at every turn, simply exit the vent and turn right. Climb the ladder that’s right there, walk across the roof, and connect the Code Sequencer to the rooftop antenna.
How to disable the anti-air defenses
At this point, the turrets are attacking the Imperials. Use this cover fire to go loud. Turn right from the rooftop antenna and jump onto the base rampart wall. Turn left and continue through the hallway, shooting anything in your way.
Get to the door and rappel down. Kill the soldiers in the main hangar room and disable the alarm. Use the elevator, kill the two Imperials up here, and slice the computer. With that done, you can deactivate the Turbolasers (which are the anti-air defenses).
How to leave the compound
To leave the compound quickly and easily, I recommend you go the same way you came by retracing your steps. On the base rampart wall, look up to see a tree branch. Use that to grapple out of the base.
Once you’ve escaped, you’re good to turn in the quest and finish The Slicer. Well done! Now, onto learning whether you should sell, give, or keep Gorak’s Ring.
