Star Wars Outlaws Jabba’s Gambit quest guide: How to start it and full walkthrough

A debt collected and a debt owed, things never change.

One of the best parts of Star Wars Outlaws has to be all the little easter eggs and callbacks to iconic Star Wars characters and locales. If you pre-ordered or bought the season pass, you get an exclusive mission tied to crime lord Jabba the Hutt. We’re going to hop on our speeder and take a look at our Star Wars Outlaws Jabba’s Gambit quest guide.

How to start Jabba’s Gambit quest in Star Wars Outlaws

Before we can dive deep into our Star Wars Outlaws Jabba’s Gambit quest guide, we need to unlock it first. Unlike other pre-order or deluxe edition bonuses, you must complete all main missions on Tatooine in order to start Jabba’s Gambit.

As soon as you’re done with the last one, ND-5 calls to tell you that he has a prior debt with Jabba that requires Kay Vess’ attendance. He asks you to meet Jabba’s contact in Jaunta’s Hope on Toshara to properly start the mission.

Meet Jabba’s Contact

Travel to the moon Toshara and head towards Daruda Diner, taking a right before the entrance. Our contact is located outside the diner and upon talking to him, he drops a holoprojection of Jabba revealing our mission.

Jabba explains that we need to steal some information on a datapad that will help him muscle in on Toshara and take it from Governor Thorden.

Meet with ND-5

Hop on your speeder and head to the coordinates provided to you while getting some backstory on ND-5’s debt from the droid himself. The location is in The Mirage, between Imperial and Pyke territory. You find ND-5 in the middle of a speeder crash and can talk to him to start the next part of the mission.

Search for the datapad

Now it’s time to employ some Witcher 3 senses and investigate the crash to find the datapad. There are three items you need to investigate and they all stick out once you start to look around. The first one is on the crashed land speeder where ND-5 was just standing, while the other two are located behind the buried ship in the sand.

Inspect the laser blasts on the wall, before walking forward and looking through a satchel to the left.

Should you follow ND-5’s lead?

After no luck finding the datapad in the bag, you hear the sound of scoundrels pulling up in speeders. ND-5 asks you to stay calm and follow his lead, and there are a few ways you can play this.

If you decide to follow ND-5’s lead, he will try to negotiate with the suspicious people. However, you find out that they are looking for the datapad as well and don’t like other people poking around. This prompts ND-5 to shoot one, starting an all-out gunfight.

Should you choose not to follow ND-5’s lead, you can simply throw some explosives or put yourself in a more advantageous position for the coming fight so don’t worry too much if you don’t follow him. The outcome is the same both ways.

Follow Nix to track the datapad and search the Pykes’ belongings

After the dust settles, Nix alerts you to a recently crashed speeder, prompting you to follow him. Once you reach the top of a hill, enemies from the Pyke syndicate pop out and attack. You can deal with these guys normally, or opt to sneak attack them by using the bridge to the left.

Defeat the enemies and traverse the bridge over to the other side to search the items the Pykes left around. While there is nothing of physical value, you are able to slice into the commlinks and get the location of the datapad.

Intercept Crimson Dawn and recover the datapad

The next location on your map takes you to the Pyke territory slightly southeast of your current location. While there may seem like multiple ways to approach the location, I learned through multiple mission fail screens that you must take your speeder and drive left where all the flying fish kites are called The Gate.

head between the two mountains and take a right when the road starts to go upwards. Depending on your current reputation with the Pykes they may or may not try to shoot at you the second you enter this area, so keep that in mind when heading to the location. Make sure not to boost directly into the mission marker, as when you arrive, there is a shootout happening between the Crimson Dawn and Pykes.

Your only goal here is to swipe the datapad, and if you want to do it with minimal attacks on your life, there’s an easy way to do it. While the shootout is happening, head left of the small cliff outcropping until you reach a section you can vault over like big steps.

Slide into the grass and move through it until you reach the area behind the small encampment. During all the commotion, you can send Nix to grab the datapad on the small table in the middle and sneak back out the way you came. If all goes accordingly, the brawl should be wrapping up as soon as you’re hopping on your speeder and getting out of dodge.

Escape from Toshara — Should you gun it or stand down?

If you happen to get through that last section undetected, prepare to deal with all the shooting you can deal with as enemies on speeders chase you as you hightail it back to your ship to get off planet.

You’re not out of the woods yet, and as soon as you get to space you’re stopped by a “routine inspection” from an Imperial Officer, asking you to stand down and be inspected. If you choose to stand down, a few syndicate ships will appear and take the heat off of you as they fight amongst each other, allowing you to escape the system. This is a much cooler option than “gun it” in my opinion.

Alternatively, if you opt to gun it and make a break for it yourself, all the Imperial ships will attempt to stop you from engaging your hyperdrive. Either way, once you escape the Toshal system, head to Jabba’s Palace on Tatooine to give him the datapad and wrap up the Jabba’s Gambit quest.

Head to Jabba’s Palace — Should you give Jabba the schematics or keep it?

Regardless of your reputation with the Hutt cartel, if you go to the door of the palace and ask to enter, you will be allowed in. You give Jabba the pad and he gloats about the eventual downfall of Governor Thorden, before asking you if there was anything else you found along the way.

If you choose to give the schematics to Jabba, you get a big fat nothing from Jabba besides him telling you to know your place in things. However, should you decide to keep the schematics, Jabba sees through your lie and just says he will collect your debt at a later time. The benefit to this option is the fact you get to keep the schematic and sell it for a sweet 2000 credits.

And that wraps up our complete Star Wars Outlaws Jabba’s Gambit quest guide. If you happen to be in good enough standing to reenter the palace, you should grab the Gone Solo mission and search for the mission musician.
