The update is available to current subscribers now, but from 1 February to 1 March, eligible former players will find their accounts reactivated, enabling them to rejoin the battle. Anyone choosing to renew their subscription before the end of the free period will receive a special in-game painting.

The Forces Under Siege update introduces massive new warfare scenarios in three major cities, whereby city mayors can select which faction their city will be aligned to, causing banners and pylons to appear displaying either the Imperial or Rebel logo. Quest NPCs and terminals will also spawn. New defensive turrets and barricades can also be used to defend the cities, providing unique reward tokens that can be cashed in for new rewards including armour and weapons, among other things.

A selection of new profession-based quests will also aid the defence or attack, allowing some characters to repair or improve the defensive structures, raise troop morale and heal the wounded.
