Star Wars: Battlefront Season pass details are vague. Prepare to pay out

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Here at PC Invasion we’re not massive fans of Season passes or pre-orders especially when there’s no real details on what you’re getting.

Star Wars: Battlefront is not exactly cheap for a multiplayer only game, the Deluxe Edition sets you back a whopping £54.99, the standard version is only slightly cheaper at £49.99, and these are both digital versions.

Today EA revealed their Season pass which is more on top. An additional £39.99 for the extra content to be precise. For that you’ll have access to four expansion packs and “new content” that will “take you to new locations across a galaxy far, far away”. There’s also two week early access to this mystery content and an exclusive “Shoot First” emote.

To get your hands on all this and the base game it’s setting gamers back around £100 which is an extraordinary amount of money for a game with no campaign. There’s also zero details of what will appear in these four Season Pass expansions.

Even though there is literally no information on the Season Pass content, the pass is available to pre-order. You would have to be mad to part with any cash at this stage, and if you do, then we have to assume that Vader himself is performing some sort of mind trick on you.

It’s no surprise that the game’s content is being sold in this way, it is EA after all, but I certainly hope more gamers vote with their wallets and avoid piling cash in now and at least wait to see if the finished product is worth it.

In related news, three new game modes were revealed including Hero Hunt, Cargo, and Droid Run.
