As tends to be the way, Star Wars Battlefront 2 will run a (public) multiplayer beta ahead of its 31 October release date. The beta will begin on 6 October and run through 9 October.
Those who’ve pre-ordered the game will be able to start a bit earlier, on 4 October. The small print notes that you have to pre-order no later than the first of that month (three days before the beta), or the early start offer is invalid.
The Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta will include the Galactic Assault mode on the Theed map shown at E3. That’s the 20v20 battle between Republic clone soldiers and Separatist battle droids. Players will also be able to try out a multiplayer Starfighter Assault battle. More details about that mode are coming at Gamescom in late August, but as the name suggests it’s about piloting starfighters.
On PC, the beta will run through EA’s Origin platform.
