Cryptic Studios has confirmed that its upcoming MMO, Star Trek Online, is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2010.Although the company had already said that the beta would be sometime before the end of the year, players were still in the dark over the actual release date of the game. But, while speaking to videogamer earlier, executive producer Craig Zinkievich confirmed that fans will see the game in stores early next year:”Without giving you the date, which I’m not allowed to give out or else the marketing people will come and smack me in the back of the head, I can tell you that the game will be out the first quarter of 2010.”Cryptic recently released the first video explaining events in the Star Trek universe since the film Star Trek Nemesis, set 30 years before the game.
