The Stanley Parable has the greatest demo the world has ever seen

The Stanley Parable is out next week, on 17 October. In the hopes of convincing you to play it, developer Galactic Cafe have released a demo. It is possibly the best demo I have ever played.

The Stanley Parable is described as a first-person exploration game, which seems pretty fitting based on what happened in the demo, but this is not Dear Esther. This is a ridiculous (and frequently hilarious) head-screw. For what it’s worth, the demo itself is entirely new – the playable section on offer here is not in the full game, so even if you were already planning on playing it, there’s no reason not to give this a go.

I’d say more, but I don’t want to ruin it. Pop on over to Steam, download it, play it, and laugh. It’s pretty much convinced me that the full version will be worth my money.

When not writing about games, Tim can occasionally be found speedrunning terrible ones, making people angry in Dota 2, or playing something obscure and random. He's also weirdly proud of his status as (probably) the Isle of Man's only professional games journalist.
