Sony has announced that, following reported script issues, Sam Raimi’s Spider-man 4 has been scrapped, possibly freeing up the director for his next scheduled project, the Warcraft film.SM4 has now officially been canned, and is set to be rebooted in 2012 with a new director, new cast and crew. This leaves Raimi free to continue with other work, and Warcraft fans have been hoping this means the long-awaited film, based on Blizzard Entertainment’s popular series of games, will be moved forward. However, there’s a chance Raimi may take on the adaptation of a Dennis Lehane novel, The Given Day, which might actually delay the production of Warcraft. There’s still no official word from Raimi or Blizzard over the film’s schedule, but stay tuned to IncGamers and our WoW channel for the very latest news, as it happens.
