Spelunky 2 announced at Paris Games Week with trailer

A sequel to the much-beloved rogue-like platformer Spelunky is on the way to the PC. Announced as part of the PlayStation event at Paris Games Week (it’s coming to PS4 as well), Spelunky 2 looks like it will follow the protagonist’s progeny.

That’s what I’m getting from the accompanying announcement trailer (below), anyway. A pug dog might be involved too, unless he’s just there for decoration in the video.

Not a whole lot more to add about this, as the entire set of details so far are ‘Spelunky 2 is being developed’ and ‘here is a trailer’. Mossmouth (Derek Yu) are making it. The trailer’s blurb states “In Spelunky 2, the story deepens as more randomly-generated adventures beckon. What new secrets are lying in wait?”
