When I reviewed Solasta: Crown of the Magister last May, I couldn’t help but marvel at the characters, mechanics, and environments. Now, for those of us who managed to finish the campaign, there might be a reason to give it another go. That’s because the new Sorcerer class is set to join Solasta: Crown of the Magister next week as part of a free update.
The Sorcerer class didn’t make it in time for the launch of version 1.0. Thankfully, the developers did promise that it would arrive shortly after release. Indeed, we even saw just hints about the class while creating our characters.
Solasta: Crown of the Magister – The free Sorcerer update
Based on a recent announcement, it seems that the Sorcerer won’t be able to use as many spells as the Wizard. Still, there’s a key feature known as Metamagic that should make up for this disadvantage. Moreover, the Sorcerer uses the Charisma (CHA) attribute to boost its spells and the class has three archetypes.
First, there’s the Draconic Sorcerer that allows them to cast powerful magic owing to their bloodline that can be traced back to ancient dragons. Meanwhile, the Child of the Rift archetype is about abilities that came to the forefront due to the opening of the rifts all over Tirmar. Finally, the Mana Painter allows these weavers to drain forms of magic for their personal use.
The Sorcerer update for Solasta: Crown of the Magister will also introduce Ironman Mode. The setting will be quite challenging, as a mere game over would mean the end of your campaign run and save file. Likewise, there are additional bug fixes and environments for the Dungeon Maker feature. These environments include the catacombs, sewers, and woodlands (seen below).
Those who already have Solasta: Crown of the Magister can give these new additions a try once the update goes live on July 13. If you need more help in your adventures, don’t forget to check out our guides and features hub.
