Sons of the Forest has several outfits that your character can wear. While some only offer negligible boosts, there’s one in particular that can truly keep you in tip-top condition while you’re exploring the harsh landscape. Here’s our guide to help you get the Winter Jacket in Sons of the Forest.

How to get the Winter Jacket in Sons of the Forest
The Winter Jacket in Sons of the Forest can be acquired early on in the campaign. You won’t even need to explore the dark depths of caverns or obtain various adventuring tools. Instead, all you need to do is head to a specific location on the overworld map (as seen in the image below).
Given that the GPS Tracker map rotates depending on the direction your character is facing, we’ll have to assume that the helicopter crash and the mountains are to the west. Therefore, your goal is to head slightly to the southeast, in a section of the island that’s filled with river junctions (i.e., the place where most streams crisscross each other, sort of like a “riverlands” area). Based on map icons, you’ll want to take note of a cave that’s a bit south, and a green marker that’s further east. The place that you’re looking for is a pond in between those two points-of-interest.

Once you arrive there, you’ll see the majestic waterfalls. On the shore, you’ll spot a bunch of tents, with their occupants long deceased. Check one of the tents here to pick up the Sons of the Forest Winter Jacket.
As for why the Sons of the Forest Winter Jacket is quite good, well, if you mouse over it in your inventory, you’ll notice that its cold resistance stat is maxed out. By wearing it, you’ll be protected from the cold and, in turn, the harshest snowstorms won’t limit a portion of your stamina meter.
