How to get the Sons of the Forest Pistol Flashlight Attachment

Darkest dungeons.

The Pistol and Shotgun Flashlight is quite useful in Sons of the Forest since you’re able to see in the dark with your weapon drawn. Here’s our guide to help you get the Pistol and Shotgun Flashlight in Sons of the Forest.

How to get the Shotgun and Pistol Flashlight Attachment in Sons of the Forest

To get the Pistol and Shotgun Flashlight attachment in Sons of the Forest, you’ll need to go to the cave on the west side of the mountain that is close to the snow region. Use the image below as your guide. There should be a cave that’s downriver. In front of that are three impaled corpses, one of which has the Slingshot.

Now, the cavern itself can be entered by destroying the wooden barricades with a weapon. However, you can’t access the tunnel system until you obtain two important tools. We have guides on how to get both the Rope Gun and the Rebreather to help you obtain the Pistol and Shotgun Flashlight.

  • Rope Gun – Lets you use Ziplines.
  • Rebreather – Allows you to dive, swim, and see underwater.

Once you have those, use the Zipline to cross the gap, and dive down the body of water (the Rebreather will keep you alive, but you need to combine it with air tanks in case you run out of oxygen).

As you emerge, you’ll see a path that’s crawling with mutants. Be careful here since they can quickly overwhelm you. I recommend staying back and picking them off one by one. It’s helpful if you do with with an online player, but it’s possible solo, too.

Eventually, your character will automatically fall down a crevice, and you’ll end up in a large chamber with several lights. This is where you can get the Sons of the Forest Flashlight attachment for the Pistol or Shotgun. It’s right next to one of the corpses near a utility lamp. Again, numerous hostile monsters can be found in this area, so watch out. The last thing you want to do here is die.

Once you have the Sons of the Forest Flashlight Attachment, you’ll still need to acquire either a Pistol Rail or Shotgun Rail. Only then will you be able to add this mod to that particular weapon.

Before you leave the cave, you should pick up the Shovel. It’s one of the most important tools in the entire game. After clearing this cave, you’ll have tons of useful items that will help you on your ongoing quest through Sons of the Forest.
