The Volcano and the Orc Tribes
Let’s say you chose to visit the Volcano first. You’ll meet a friendly Orc named Kebra.
That leads to a dialogue with an Orc gatekeeper named Arbal. In my case, telling him that you’ll free a captive was the best way to go. Finally, after a battle against some Orc minions, you’ll free the captive, Brok.
Both Kebra and Brok are Shamans. While not a particular class in Solasta: Crown of the Magister, they do wield powerful spells related to lightning, thunder, and the spirits. Kebra will follow you around during this portion of the game, and Brok will also lend his aid from time to time.
Anyway, your objective is to defeat the Orc chieftain named Arrok who seems to hold one of the crown’s gems. To do this, you’ll need to gain the alliance of the other Orc tribes:
- Bloodspear Tribe – Defeat their leader in a small arena. Choose your toughest character since you can only use default weapons and armor (accessories aren’t allowed).
- Sandraven – You need to defeat the Spider Queen (seen below). It loves to use poisonous attacks, and several spiderlings will also attack you. Make sure that you can sneak before triggering the encounter so you can interact with the light sources. Alternatively, just cast Daylight so you don’t get penalized for being in the dark. Once the Spider Queen is dead, take the Holy Axe and return it to the tribe’s leader.
- Bladefang – You have to go through the Necropolis to open an emperor’s tomb. The wraith won’t be happy if you keep disturbing it, and that’ll lead to a fight. Once you exit this room, the Bladefang chieftain will actually try to fight you while backed by Soraks enemies.
Arrok boss fight
After you’re done with these tasks, return to Brok. He and Kebra will assist you when you confront Arrok. This guy is surrounded by two fire elementals and two fire ospreys, so use your Wizard’s ice-based spells to weaken them significantly. Brok and Kebra can also cast their healing and buffing spells such as Guardian Spirit to keep the group alive.
The caverns will then collapse after this, so make your way outside. Although Kebra and Brok were running with you, they’re nowhere to be found once you leave the location. The group just shrugs (which was quite jarring).
Anyway, let’s talk about the Lava Forest and Arena destinations in the next section of our Solasta: Crown of the Magister guide.
