Solasta: Crown of the Magister — Character creation guide

Choosing your character’s race, lineage, and class

As with many CRPGs, selecting your character’s race is the first important choice you’ll make in Solasta: Crown of the Magister.

Below, you’ll see the details for each of the game’s races (ancestries). There are also lineages or variations of a particular race. You’ll notice bonuses to certain ability scores (attributes) such as strength, wisdom, and the like.

Humans are definitely the most generic of the bunch. I guess it’s an Average Joe/Jane thing since humans only get +1 to each ability, but don’t particularly excel in anything else. Likewise, you’ll notice that certain races have the Darkvision perk. This is actually integral during your run since lighting plays a huge role when you engage opponents in battles. You’re at a disadvantage when you try to attack enemies in dimly lit or dark areas, but Darkvision helps alleviate this.

Moving on, let’s talk about class picks. This screen shows you additional bonuses, skills, and proficiencies that each class has. This is also where you can change a character’s starting weapon loadout. Let’s pretend that we picked a Rogue.

All right, in the next section of our Solasta: Crown of the Magister character creation guide, we’ll talk about backgrounds and personalities.
