SOE Addresses Agency Cancellation Rumours

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has confirmed the game is not in danger of being cancelled.
Speaking after his keynote at the Austin GDC, SOE president John Smedley said that the MMO/FPS game has definitely not been cancelled, as rumours towards the end of last year suggested.
“[W]e’re not going to release it until it’s right,” Smedley told Joystiq
“But there’s this rumor going around that we’re going to cancel it — that’s ridiculous.”
However, Smedley was unable to narrow down the release date, confirming only that it will be out “next year.”
“We’re simply keeping it under wraps more because we want to make it the best possible game we can,” he added.
“I’m an FPS player first and foremost, so we’re going to get that game right, period.”
We got the chance to take a sneak peek at the game at E3 this year. Check out our preview and developer interview.
