Beketov Valley features a lush, green landscape dotted by hills and mountains. River crossings are also in the region, and it’s one level in Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts where you won’t freeze to death if you fall in the water. You’ve got a couple of targets and both of them are part of the criminal underworld. Our guide helps you with the main objectives throughout the Beketov Valley mission and any additional challenges therein.
Note: For all the other missions and various info, check out our Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts guides and features hub. Anyway, take a look at the Beketov Valley map below. There’s a reason why there are a couple of #3 objectives here and I’ll explain later:
Beketov Valley – Contracts
Don’t let Beketov Valley’s scenery fool you, because you’re dropped next to a bunch of patrolling soldiers. Avoid them for now unless you want to be Rambo or you’re going for some of the map’s challenges.
Stick to the right side of the glade and climb the rock formation. You can interrogate a sniper here to reveal the location of nearby enemies.
There are three more remaining snipers and around a dozen regular soldiers. Let the army truck pass by so nobody gets alerted. You’ll also spot a path through the grass, but it’s littered with mines. The “Tracker” skill (under Mask -> Awareness) would be very helpful if you’ve already unlocked it.
Free the prisoner
Once you’re past the outpost, you’ll spot a rockslide sign. This is an alternate route that leads to the prison where we’ll find the first objective.
This might be the first time in Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts where you’ll experience the dreaded signal jamming. A jammer vehicle is in the middle of the camp. You can destroy it, but it’ll alert the guards. Alerting enemies here will start a timer for the prisoner’s execution.
Alternatively, you can make do by moving around stealthily. Keep in mind that pinging the map would only tag enemies temporarily.
Keep to the right-hand side where the guard tower is. There’s a building here and you can climb inside the window. Take out the soldier and check the first floor. You’ll find a collectible here.
The nearby shed will also have a couple of guards but they can be taken out without issues.
And, after that, you’ll spot the building where the prisoner is being held. You may encounter some problems such as the prisoner just running towards the cell door:
Or he could be in front of the building awaiting his execution:
Ideally, the prisoner should remain inside his cell and all you need to do is shoot the lock. It’ll free him and you’ll complete this objective.
Eliminate Sasha Petroshenko
Eliminate Agvan Dorzhiev
The road to reach Petroshenko’s dacha is long and arduous. Still, there are a number of hidden passages and grassy fields that should keep you hidden. You can also swim in the river to avoid combat. There’s even a ruined village next to the church where a bounty might pop up.
You’ll spot Petroshenko’s dacha in the distance. Rather than getting close, try to eliminate some enemies from afar. Once you reach a certain area near the dacha, a timer will start signaling Dorzhiev’s arrival.
The good thing is that there are several checkpoints in this area. There’s one next to the CCTV control panel off to the right, and another near the riverbed. If you head to the roof, there’s also one there. If you reload the checkpoint, Dorzhiev’s timer will reset. You can clear the entire dacha if you want.
Note 1: One of the checkpoints next to the garden or front lawn may lead to you getting stuck in a wall if you reload.
Note 2: If you alert any of the guards, Dorzhiev will get spooked and he’ll return to his HQ. You can either kill him when he gets to the dacha or back at his HQ if he runs off. You’ll get a key from him which you can use for Beketov Valley’s final objective.
If the guards didn’t become suspicious, Dorzhiev and Petroshenko will have a meeting. The latter will just linger around and you can snipe him here. You can eliminate the bath towel-wearing Petroshenko as well.
Obtain the hidden camera recordings
The camera recording can be found in the sauna room. Shoot the glass wall to break it and you’ll find the camera inside. This room can also be accessed by climbing to the roof and going through a crawlspace.
There’s also a collectible in Petroshenko’s room which is near the garden.
There’s an extraction point overlooking the river near Petroshenko’s dacha. It’s surrounded by mines though so be careful.
Find evidence of Dorzhiev’s illegal activities
It’s another long and winding road to reach Dorzhiev’s mining camp. The road will have several patrols too so be on the lookout. Once you reach the mining camp, you’ll find several soldiers and gangsters. The building in the middle will have an officer. Kill the guy and loot his corpse to get a key. This is the same key awarded by Dorzhiev just in case his corpse despawned.
There’s a sniper camping the walkway. Make him walk to the afterlife.
The mining office has a number of hostiles so clear them out and use the key on the locked door. You’ll find the files in here. You’re done with Beketov Valley’s final contract objective.
You can head to the extraction point nearby. Alternatively, you could check out the mountain path off to the side.
It’ll lead you to an outpost and there might be a bounty here.
Beketov Valley – Challenges
Kill 5 enemies through an obstacle
You’re going to need a sniper rifle that has the special ammo magazine unlocked. Not only that, but the weapon also needs to have the armor-piercing (AP) rounds selectable. The default XCR 700 won’t cut it. You can go with the S00 KSV 2020, Sturm – Precision, or the DLC weapon, the SV Amur.
Find enemies that aren’t moving and make sure that they’re behind obstacles such as wooden posts or sandbags. Switch to your AP rounds (“Z” key) and shoot them in the head.
Kill 5 enemies at a distance of 200 meters or more
This one’s fairly self-explanatory and you’ll easily get these kills as you progress throughout the Beketov Valley mission.
Perform 10 double kills
Double kills are ones where you eliminate two targets at the same time with one sniper shot. No, tandem shots with the sniper turret don’t count. Instead, you’ll need a heavy sniper rifle like the Sturm – Precision, SV Amur, or Reese ESR 2020. Line up your shot and make sure you’re hitting both targets so the bullet will penetrate.
Interrogate Dorzhiev
Dorzhiev stays around after his meeting with Petroshenko in the dacha. This also works if the guards were alerted after his meeting with Petroshenko. If he does run away before the meeting, you’ll find him in the mining camp and you can also interrogate him there.
Kill both Petroshenko and Dorzhiev at more than 300 meters distance
This one’s kind of fun. Wait for Dorzhiev and Petroshenko to have their meeting. Dorzhiev will be at the terrace and Petroshenko will be in his office talking on the phone. You won’t find a good vantage point near the dacha so you’ll have to turn back and cross the river. There’s a slope next to the stone bridge and that’s your spot.
If you’ve got both of them tagged, you’ll see how far they are from you. Whip out your sniper rifle and make sure you’re 300+ meters away.
This is important: kill Petroshenko first. He’s alone so no one will get alerted. But, if you kill Dorzhiev first, the guards will panic and bulletproof glass will cover the windows of Petroshenko’s dacha. You’re screwed.
Complete all contracts using only stealth kills
Petroshenko and Dorzhiev are your mandatory targets here. The former, as mentioned, can be killed in his office without alerting anyone. The latter, meanwhile, requires a double kill since one of his guards is nearby. Every other hostile throughout this mission should only be killed via stealthy means — sniper rifles with high noise reduction, silenced pistols, or knives. Guards cannot become suspicious, and killing them while they’re already suspicious won’t count as a stealth kill.
That does it for our Beketov Valley map and mission guide. Head over to our guide for the next level, Arakcheyev Fortress.
