Hi-Rez keep the News Zealanders and Aussies happy with new servers.

MOBA players down under can rejoice in the news that the Oceanic SMITE servers have now gone live which should mean improved ping times and a much better experience. The good news is that players in Australia and New Zealand can sill play with their EU and US chums if they so desire. Todd Harris, Hi-Rez COO had this to say about the server launch:

“As SMITE grows, we continue to expand servers into key regions so that we can provide the best service and performance for our international players. The Australian community has always been very vocal and supportive, and we are excited to improve the game experience for the community in this region.”

The launch of the servers also coincides with Hi-Rez making an appearance at PAX Australia where Todd will be talking about MOBAs in his presentation called “Designing Smite and Cracking the MOBA market” at PAX in the Main Theatre on Friday Oct 31st at 4:30pm. If you’re going to the PAX then this is probably a talk worth checking out because the MOBA market is a tough nut to crack.
