Slay the Princess: Tower walkthrough

Do you dare to defy her divinity and see what happens, or will you simply pledge yourself to serve a goddess?

The Tower is on the slightly more difficult side of the Slay the Princess routes to fully explore. Here we’re going to cover the entirety of the Slay the Princess Tower Walkthrough.

Losing horribly to the Princess brings you a much larger one who has attained goddess status. How can you possibly hope to defy a Princess who bends you to her divine will? And can you even defy her at all?

Slay the Princess Tower full guide: Chapter one

To get to The Tower, you have to get completely wrecked by the Princess as you try to kill her. All of the possibilities require taking the knife. In order to do this:

  • Talk to the Princess when you first descend the staircase and refuse to drop the blade. You will have to go through the first and second rounds of dialogue before you attack her, then choose the Give Up option.
  • Talk to the Princess and then decide to lock her away. When she protests, try to slay her instead.
  • Try to free her, but attack her when the Narrator makes you. This also works if you warn her first.

Then proceed past the black dying screen.

Chapter two: The Tower walkthrough

The cabin turns into a grandiose marble tower as the name suggests with stained glass windows. The Tower is broken down into a few outcomes:

  • Pledge yourself to her: She takes over the Narrator, has you break her chain, and The Shifting Mound claims her.
  • Defy her, without the knife: She still takes over the Narrator, but you are able to resist her. She tells you you won’t next time and the chapter goes to The Apotheosis without you dying.
  • Defy her, with the knife: She forces you to turn it on yourself. If you listen, it goes to The Apotheosis. If you instead try to kill her every step of the way, you eventually win and kill her, leading to The Fury.
  • If you’ve already done The Fury via The Adversary, you’re granted a third option: Resist instead of pledging yourself or killing her. This will also lead to The Apotheosis.

Chapter Three: The Fury and The Apotheosis

For The Fury, nothing you do changes the outcome in this chapter. She will kill you at the end no matter what you try to do.

If you got The Apotheosis, pick any option at the beginning. The ground will shake and shatter no matter what.

Your only option in this chapter is to take the blade or not. Either way, you’ll be taken into her gravity. If you take the knife, don’t get to land the killing blow before The Shifting Mound claims her. Of note, she seems to be the only variant too big for the hands to claim.

In total, that brings the possible vessels from this route to three. Defying the Tower is not easy but as this Slay the Princess: Tower walkthrough demonstrates, it is possible. Whether you or the Narrator come out of it alive is another matter.
