The Bethesda blog is trumpeting the news that the latest Skyrim beta (version 1.9) can be downloaded through Steam from today. In terms of fresh features, the major addition is a ‘Legendary’ difficulty mode and the ability to upgrade individual skills to ‘Legendary’ status.

In effect, this sounds like the ability to reset said skills to 15. Here’s how Bethesda describes it: “Skills of 100 can be made Legendary. This will reset the skill to 15, return its Perks and allow the skill to affect leveling again. This effectively removes the overall level cap.”

With every Skyrim update there must be bug-fixes, and 1.9 is no exception. You can read the full list at the blog link above, but this is probably my favourite of the bunch: “Fixed issue with NPC dying in a bear trap blocking progress in “Time of My Need””
