Baldur’s Gate 3 is an immensely massive game, with endless possibilities on what you can do. Right from the start you have a bunch of different options for even character creation, and as you progress through the game, the amount of differences between playthroughs can be staggering. Once you reach Act Two, this only keeps increasing too, with missable things that you can find along the way. One of these is the Silent Library, which is a place you can find in the Gauntlet of Shar. When you enter this room, you’ll be greeted to a pretty difficult fight, but after completing that, there’s only the puzzle left to do. So here’s our guide on the Silent Library puzzle solution in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to solve the Silent Library puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3
When you get to the end of the Silent Library in Baldur’s Gate 3, the only thing you’ll find is an empty pedestal and a riddle. This riddle will require you to find a specific book to solve it, which we can find in the current location we’re in. The book you’re going to be looking for is the book titled ‘Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger’, which you can find in the second bookcase on the right as you enter the Silent Library in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Be careful when you go to look at these bookcases though, and the bookcases of the Silent Library in Baldur’s Gate 3 have traps on them. Meaning you’ll need to disarm them before you can actually access these bookshelves and gain access to the loot inside, including the one that houses the ‘Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger’ book.
After you claim this book for yourself, the final step to this puzzle solution is to simply walk up to the pedestal that has the empty socket in and insert the book into this pedestal to solve the Silent Library Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3. After you do this, you can walk through the newly opened door and claim your prize, a spear that’s very useful for Shadowheart’s personal quest.
