The Count of Paris and Count Odo
To be clear, Count Odo isn’t an assassination target. However, the game does provide you additional options to make it seems like a Black Box Infiltration mission.
After the cutscene, make your way to the square (i.e., the two obelisks). If you look at the rooftops to your left, you’ll spot Nolwenn, the smuggler who helped you in an earlier quest.
Help her reach the tunnel so you can make your way inside the fortress. There are guards and rat swarms here, so watch out.
Inside the fortress, you’ll find these clues:
- A letter on a bench tells you that a lovestruck maid knows of a way inside the palace.
- Find the maid and follow her. She’ll lead you to the cellar. There’s a note here from the jailor.
- On the ground floor, you’ll have two more options:
- Lure the drunk to get past the guards. You’ll be able to talk to the priest inside the servants’ quarters.
- Check the other room to find the jailor. He’s talking to another fella, but he’ll move away soon enough. You can grab a key from him which will open the way to the kitchen.
- In the kitchen, you can take the wine from the table and give it to the priest. He’ll hand over the key to the master’s bedroom.
- Theodrate, the wife of Count Odo, lies on her deathbed in the master’s bedroom. It’s possible to pretend that you’re count Odo (requires level 2 Charisma from Flyting).
- You can pick up the key from the bureau. This will open the door to Count Odo’s Sanctum.
Count Odo boss fight
After a rather short conversation, Count Odo will challenge you to a fight. In my case, he was 495 power. He’s got a multi-hit swing that can be blocked, though he also tries some unavoidable moves in between these sequences. His attacks are easily telegraphed anyway.
After beating Count Odo, you’ll hear horns blasting outside. Charles III has arrived, and Eivor returns Count Odo’s sword, trusting that the man would remain honorable.
We’ll discuss some of the decisions that you can make in our “SkÃ¥l” quest/Celebration guide for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris.
