Richard Garriott and Portalarium’s online MMORPG Shroud of the Avatar will finally leave Early Access in March.
It’s been a long time coming but Portalarium will finally launch the game on 27 March after being successfully Kickstarted way back in 2013 where it raised over 1 million. Since then the funding has continued on the official website.
Ahead of the launch, a free trial is available to download from the official website and new improvements have been added to the game including user interface refinements, a more user-friendly tutorial, improvements to the combat system, easier map navigation and the ability to choose to play one of the three Virtue paths in the Free Trial.
It will be interesting to see how this is received and how well it does. MMORPGs often find it hard to survive in today’s current market. What it does have in its favour is Richard Garriott’s involvement as Ultima fans will be checking this out.
