Diablo 4 Side Quests Or Campaign

Should you do the campaign or side quests first in Diablo 4?

Side quests or story first in Diablo 4?

Diablo 4 is a game with a rich campaign storyline and a ton of side quests to complete. As you play through the game, you may ask yourself if you should stop the campaign quests to complete some side quests. Beceause I’ve just about reached Act 4 in Diablo 4, I can help you out here; here is whether you should focus on the campaign quests of side quests in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4: Side quests or campaign first? Answered

As soon as you finish the Diablo 4 prologue and enter Kyovashad, you’ll experience side quests. Blue exclamation marks, which indicates NPCs who have side quests for you, litter the map. However, should you get sidetracked and complete side quests or stick to the critical path and finish the campaign quests?

Here’s how I do it — I recommend grabbing every side quest you see, and while you are out completing the main campaign quests, finish a few side quests here and there.

As you journey to your campaign objective, you’ll likely pass a few side quest areas, which are highlighted blue on your map. When side quest objectives are close by, complete them. Otherwise, stick to the main campaign.

The reason I recommend sticking to finishing the campaign as fast as possible is because that is how you unlock the mount. Plus, Diablo 4 really shines in its endgame where you can take your amazing early game Necromancer build and make it unstoppable.

A reason to stick to the strategy of completing two or three side quests per main campaign quest is there is a max amount of side quests you can hold. You can hold somewhere around 25 side quests before you can’t take on new ones. I learned this the hard way when a random enemy dropped a random side quest item and I couldn’t pick it up because I had too many side quests, so I lost that side quest and don’t know when or if I’ll see it again.

While you can b-line it straight through the campaign quests without doing much side questing, I don’t recommend that because completing side quests is a great way to level up quickly and get a lot of great materials through caches. You can also stick to completing every side quest in the game before progressing through the campaign, but I don’t recommend that because unlocking the mount as fast as possible will make completing side quests a lot easier.

In short, you need a healthy blend of both side quests and main campaign quests as you play through Diablo 4. Of course, play your way, but that’s my recommendation. I also recommend you learn about what Overpower Damage is because it’s truly overpowered in Diablo 4.
