SEGA and Creative Assembly have released a new video for Shogun 2: Total War, showing a sample confrontation between the Chosokabe and Takeda clans.
This gives us all a decent look at some of the units that will be returning in Shogun 2: Total War (plus general’s speeches, which are returning from prior games in the series), as well as the enemy AI. AI has tended to be a bit of a sore spot for Total War devotees over recent years, though it’s difficult from this pre-alpha video to form any concrete opinions about specific improvements.
The fact that Creative Assembly has chosen to focus this video so heavily on the AI, however, suggests they are aware of player requests for progress in that area. Sadly, this trailer doesn’t feature any of the hero units or sieges described to us by Dr. Stephen Turnbull, but they may be coming in later battle reports.
